Have you ever found yourself wistfully staring into your refrigerator, looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth without busting your diet? What if you saw a cheesecake staring back at you? Most of us would forget about our diets, grab a fork, and enjoy a slice (or two), followed by a large serving of guilt. What if I told you that you could have your (cheese)cake and eat it too?
Now came the challenge – how could I make a low-carb protein packed cheesecake that still tastes great? It started by using Delta® Greek Yogurt as the main ingredient and a sugar substitute for white sugar. Then I added some cream cheese, lemon juice, vanilla and eggs. From these simple ingredients, I was able to create a low-carb, protein-packed crave-worthy, creamy cheesecake.
You have to give this yogurt a try! Not only is Delta® a real Greek yogurt made by a Greek company that has 70 years of experience making yogurt in Greece, their yogurts are all natural, non-GMO, have no preservatives, no artificial growth hormones, no sweeteners, no artificial flavors, and are naturally gluten-free.
What’s even better for those on a high-protein and low-carb diet, their 5.3 oz cup of plain Delta yogurt has 30% of an adult’s daily protein!!! I love that Delta® Greek Yogurt uses cultures from the island of Crete that have been used in artisanal yogurt made by Greek families for hundreds of years; they give the yogurt a rich, less sour taste. They also have a variety of flavors that my kids loved: Cherry, Strawberry, Blueberry, Peach-Apricot, Vanilla, all 0% fat in 5.3 oz containers. I have also used Greek yogurt in some of my dishes as a substitute for mayonnaise or sour cream. It can also be used in a pasta sauce in place of cream.
Like all of my Momma Chef creations, it’s quick, easy, and scrumptious — with only six ingredients, you can whip us this cheesecake in under five minutes! Here’s the delicious, satisfying, and SIMPLE recipe to healthy bliss that is low-carb and packed in protein.
